What is the hardware overview?

Hardware asset management is available with Jira Service Management Premium and Enterprise.

To set it up, you must be a Jira admin and an Assets admin.

The hardware overview is a dashboard that summarizes your hardware at a glance. It answers the questions you ask most often — what do I have, what's it worth, and what needs attention? — without having to dig through the register.

On top of the charts, an insights panel can surface AI-powered highlights about your hardware using Rovo — for example, warranty or stock observations worth acting on.

The overview is made up of charts. Some charts show a single number, such as the total hardware count in a given status; others show a breakdown by status, location or type. Select part of a chart to drill down and view the exact objects behind it.

You can read the default overview as-is, or build your own custom dashboards with the charts and filters your team cares about. To learn how, see Build custom hardware dashboards.

The overview reflects the hardware you have permission to see. If your data model is empty, import your hardware first so the overview has something to show — see Import your hardware data.
