Manage stock rules
Hardware asset management is available with Jira Service Management Premium and Enterprise.
To set up stock rules, you must have a hardware Administrator role, as well as Assets edit permissions on the stock objects in the hardware schema where your data resides.
A stock rule sets how much of a hardware model to keep in a stockroom. When stock drops below the minimum, hardware asset management can flag it for replenishment so you don't run out. Each stock rule ties together a model and a stockroom, with:
Minimum stock level — the level at which stock is considered low and should be reordered.
Maximum stock level — the target level to restock up to.
Order size — the default quantity to order when replenishing.
Do this with Rovo
You can manage stock rules using Rovo. Open Rovo Chat and type /hardware-configuration and describe what you want — for example, "add a stock rule for MacBook Pro in the Sydney stockroom" or "update the reorder thresholds for monitors". Rovo previews the change and asks you to confirm before applying it.
Add a stock rule
In the left navigation, select Hardware.
Select More actions () to the right, then select Hardware settings.
Open the stock rules for the stockroom or model you want to set a rule for.
Select Add stock rule.
Choose the model and stockroom the rule applies to.
Set the minimum stock level,maximum stock level, and order size.
Save the stock rule.
Edit a stock rule
Open the stock rule you want to change.
Update its thresholds or order size, then save your changes.
Delete a stock rule
Open the stock rule you want to remove.
Select the option to delete it, then confirm. That model and stockroom will no longer be monitored for low stock.
