Link work items to each other, or link to other information from work items

Use links to quickly point to helpful information for people working on a work item. You can link work items to other work items, or add links to pages and app content.

Link work items to each other

If there are other work items that relate to the one you’re working on, their details could help add context. Linked work items appear below the Description. Linking work items doesn’t change them in any other way. You can either link an existing work item, or create a new work item and link it.

Make sure you have the link work items project permission before getting started. Your Jira administrator can customize the types of links that you can create.

To link a work item to another work item:

1. Open the work item.

3. Search for an existing work item, or select + Create linked work item to create a new one.

   1. If you searched for an existing work item, choose how they relate to each other ("is blocked by" or "relates to," for example), then select Link.

   2. If you created a new linked work item, fill in its details, then select Create.

Link to pages on a work item

Confluence pages can have information related to the work item you’re working on.

Link to app content on a work item

App content can help add additional context to work items.

To link to app content on a work item:

1. Open the work item.

2. Select the app’s icon under the summary.

3. Complete any required steps.

Link limits

You can add up to 2000 links on a work item. This includes:

• Web リンク

• Confluence ページ

• links to a work item on a different Jira instance

• links to other Atlassian products

This does not include child work items.
