We're updating our terminology in Jira

'Issue' is changing to 'work item'. You might notice some inconsistencies while this big change takes place.

Create a reference that includes child objects

Assets in Jira Service Management is a Premium and Enterprise only feature. Learn more about Assets

A reference in Assets is an attribute that allows you to select another object as a value. When creating a new reference, you must choose the object type you want to reference. If the selected object type has child object types, they can be included as well.

  1. Go to Assets and select an object schema.

  2. Select the relevant object type.

  3. Select Attributes.

  4. Select the gear icon next to the attribute, then Configure in the dropdown.

  5. Under the General tab, select Include children.

The attribute must have children to see the Include children option.
