Configuring Attribute Mapping

Create a new Attribute Mapping

Before a new Attribute Mapping can be created, a job must be run first to create Raw Data, a new Data Source must be created, and both the Cleanse and Import operations must be run on the Data Source that you are creating mappings for.

To create an new Attribute Mapping:

  1. Select Assets in the top navigation bar.

  2. On the landing page, select Configuration at top-right.

  3. Select the Data Manager tab.

  4. Select the Data Manager icon .

  5. Select Cleanse and Import.

  6. Select for the data source you want to map.

  7. Select Mapping in the pop-up menu, the Object Attribute Mapping screen will display.

    1. Repeat the following process for each attribute in the list:

    2. For fields that don’t need to be mapped, leave the Object Attribute as <ignore>.

    3. For fields that do need to be mapped to an existing attribute, review the Object Attributes available in the list and select an appropriate attribute. (eg. Match an Operating System field to OperatingSystem (String)).

    4. Where no appropriate Object Attribute exists AND the field needs to be mapped select <create new>.

      1. Enter a name for the new Object Attribute..

      2. Select Done.

  8. Ensure that the appropriate field is defined as a Primary Key (radio button is on).

  9. Where appropriate, ensure any Secondary Key(s) are flagged (checkbox).

  10. Once all fields are complete and keys defined, click the Save button at top.

Edit an Attribute Mapping

To Edit an Attribute Mapping:

  1. Select Assets in the top navigation bar.

  2. On the landing page, select Configuration at top-right.

  3. Select the Data Manager tab.

  4. Select the Data Manager icon .

  5. Select Cleanse and Import.

  6. Select for the data source you want to map.

  7. Select Mapping.

  8. In the Object Attribute Mapping screen, make any modifications needed.

  9. Select Save, at top.

Reset an Attribute Mapping

Resetting an Attribute Mapping returns it to it’s default (empty) state. To reset an Attribute Mapping:

  1. Select Assets in the top navigation bar.

  2. On the landing page, select Configuration at top-right.

  3. Select the Data Manager tab.

  4. Select the Data Manager icon .

  5. Select Cleanse and Import.

  6. Select for the data source you want to map.

  7. Select Mapping.

  8. Select Reset, at top.

  9. In the Confirmation dialog, select Delete.

Save a Default Attribute Mapping

To save a Default Attribute Mapping:

  1. Select Assets in the top navigation bar.

  2. On the landing page, select Configuration at top-right.

  3. Select the Data Manager tab.

  4. Select the Data Manager icon .

  5. Select Cleanse and Import.

  6. Select for the data source you want to map.

  7. Select Mapping in the pop-up menu.

  8. In the Object Attribute Mapping screen, make any modifications needed.

  9. Select Save Default Attribute Mapping.

Load a Default Attribute Mapping

To load a Default Attribute Mapping:

  1. Select Assets in the top navigation bar.

  2. On the landing page, select Configuration at top-right.

  3. Select the Data Manager tab.

  4. Select the Data Manager icon .

  5. Select Cleanse and Import.

  6. Select for the data source you want to map.

  7. Select Mapping in the pop-up menu, the Object Attribute Mapping screen will display.

  8. Select the Load Default Mappings button.

  9. A popup will appear asking for confirmation. Message states: Confirm : By loading default object attribute mappings, all current mappings will be removed. Then, the default object attribute mappings will be loaded and automatically saved as current mapping. Are you sure?

  10. If you are sure, select Delete.
