Create and configure a Schema job

Assets Data Manager for Jira Service Management Cloud is currently rolling out in Open Beta and will be available to all Premium + Enterprise sites by end of October 2024.

This task requires Data Manager Adapters admin permissions to complete. See how permissions and roles work in Data Manager.

 

Create a Schema job

To create a new job using a schema in Assets in Jira Service Management as a data source:

  1. Select Assets in the top navigation bar.

  2. On the landing page, select Configuration at top-right.

  3. Select the Data Manager tab.

  4. Select the Data Manager icon.

  5. Select Adapters in the left menu bar. This will open a new tab to the Adapters screen.

  6. Select Create Job.

  7. Under General, select Schema.

Once you have created a new job, you must complete all of the Required (*) fields before the job can be successfully saved.

Configure a Schema job

In the Schema Configuration screen, configure details about the data source:

  1. In the Name field, enter a name for your job. This name will be used to identify your job when you run the Adapters client.

  2. Ensure the Enabled toggle is set to Enabled (dark blue). Disabled jobs cannot be run.

  3. In the Object Class field, select the Object Class destination for this data.

  4. In the Data Source Type field, Schema is pre-selected and cannot be modified.

  5. You’ll need to generate a token to connect your schema and Data Manager.

    1. Select Generate Token.

    2. In the Username field, enter your Atlassian account email.

    3. In the Atlassian API token field, enter your Atlassian API token. Learn how to generate an Atlassian API token.

    4. Select Generate Token.

    5. The token you’ve just generated will be automatically pasted into the Basic Authentication Token field. This token follows the protocols of Basic Auth and not OAuth.

  6. In the Schema field, select the schema that will the source of the data you will bring into Data Manager.

  7. In the Object Types field, select one or more object types from within the Schema field to bring data in from. If you do not select any object types, they will all be included by default.

  8. In the Max Results field, select the maximum number of schema objects that are transferred at once. This will only affect the rate of data transfer, the job should be completed irregardless.

  9. Select Save.

Save a Schema job

Once all required fields have been filled and all columns in the data source have been mapped, you can Save this job. Your new job should be visible in the All Jobs screen.
