Roles

The tasks that a user can do in Data Manager depends on the role they are assigned.

Assets App admin with Service Collection

As Assets App admin with Service Collection will be able to see the Data Manager settings page under Assets Settings.

These users will be able to assign Data Manager user roles to individuals that are service collection users. They will also be able to generate tokens and view the workspace ID.

There are four roles in Data Manager that an Assets App admin can assign:

Data Manager admin + Adapters admin These two roles are required for a Data Manager admin and is the most permissive role. Data Manager & Adapter admins can add, move, change, update and delete items on all screens in Data Manager.

Dashboard editor The Dashboard editor allows users to add and edit the data visualisations area of Data Manager. This includes adding dashboard groups, and add, edit, modify the layout of, and delete data visualisations. You can export, download, and delete your own data visualisations, but not modify data visualisations belonging to others.

In object classes, you can add, edit, and delete Tags, as well as view the object list and modify column settings (to move columns around). You can save new Advanced searches, as well as update the existing saved searches that you have access to.

In data dictionaries, you can only view the dictionaries, but can add new issues to a group in data dictionary issues.

In data sources, you can view items and view the raw data and transformed data for each data source, as well as view the cleansing statistics and mapping matrix.

Users with the Dashboard editor role cannot modify any settings.

Dashboard viewer The Dashboard viewer is the most restrictive role. It allows you to view data visualisations or export and download lists.

In object classes, you can also view the object lists and modify column settings (to move columns around) – you can view the saved searches and open existing saved searches, as well as modify the saved searches without being able to save the adjustments.

In data sources, you can view items and view the raw data and transformed data for each data source, as well as view the cleansing statistics and mapping matrix.

Users with the Dashboard viewer role cannot modify any settings.
