Get started with Jira Service Management for admins
Your first stop for learning how to get started with Jira Service Management.
Assets Data Manager for Jira Service Management Cloud is currently rolling out in Open Beta and will be available to all Premium + Enterprise sites by end of October 2024.
This task requires Data Manager Dashboards Editor permissions to complete. How permissions and roles work in Data Manager.
The Object List view in Data Manager gives you an overview of the data that underlies your object - the verification status of the object, the number of data sources collected to create the object, and how the attributes of data source were mapped to create the object.
To view the Object List view:
Select Assets from the dropdown in Jira Service Management.
Select Data Manager in the left sidebar.
Select Analysis in the left sidebar.
From the list of records, select an Object list.
If you don’t see the List view, select View as and then List.
To change the order of column settings in the Object List view:
Select Assets from the dropdown in Jira Service Management.
Select Data Manager in the left sidebar.
Select Analysis in the left sidebar.
From the list of records, select an Object list.
If you don’t see the List view, select View as and then List.
Select Column Settings, at top.
Reorder your column settings to change your object list view by using the Up and Down icons.
To export Data Manager objects from the Object List view:
Select Assets from the dropdown in Jira Service Management.
Select Data Manager in the left sidebar.
Select Analysis in the left sidebar.
From the list of records, select an Object class.
In the Object List screen, optionally select a saved search to filter your data.
Select Export Current Results at top.
In the Export Request panel:
Enter a new Name for the exported file. The name should only contain alphanumeric characters, hyphens, dots and underscores.
Select Submit.
When you submit an export request, Data Manager will initiate the processing of your requested data into a downloadable file.
Upon completion, navigate to the "My Downloads" section to track the status of your export request. Once processing is finished, you'll be able to download the result.
Kindly remember that any requests older than 24 hours will be removed during the import process.
The Attribute by Data Source view in Data Manager gives you a view of all of data sources in your record set, cross-referenced against a selected attribute. You can use this to get an idea of how well the tools are aligned in regards to the selected Attribute.
To view the Attribute by Data Source chart:
Select Assets from the dropdown in Jira Service Management.
Select Data Manager in the left sidebar.
Select Analysis in the left sidebar.
From the list of records, select Attribute by datasource.
Select an Attribute using the drop-down at the top of the view.
Select a Value type using the drop-down at the top of the view. Selecting By data source value will display all of the values equally, while selecting By preferred value will display the attributes from the preferred attributes. Learn more about preferred attributes.
To view your data as a Venn diagram:
Select Assets from the dropdown in Jira Service Management.
Select Data Manager in the left sidebar.
Select Analysis in the left sidebar.
From the list of records, select an Object list.
Once the list of records displays, select View as and then Venn diagram. If you don’t see the List view, select View as and then List.
In the box Select 2 or 3 data sources, simply click each data source you want to compare from the list, click in the box again and the list will re-display allowing you to select the next data source.
Note: A maximum of three (3) data sources are allowed.
To view your data as an Attribute Pie Chart:
Select Assets from the dropdown in Jira Service Management.
Select Data Manager in the left sidebar.
Select Analysis in the left sidebar.
From the list of records, select an Object list.
Once the list of records displays, select View as and then Attribute Pie diagram. If you don’t see the List view, select View as and then List.
The Data Source by Data Source view in Data Manager gives you a view of the data sources in your record set, cross-referenced with each other to show the absolute overlap in records between them.
To view the Data Source by Data Source chart:
Select Assets from the dropdown in Jira Service Management.
Select Data Manager in the left sidebar.
Select Analysis in the left sidebar.
From the list of records, select Datasource by datasource.
