Get started with Jira Service Management for admins
Your first stop for learning how to get started with Jira Service Management.
This article refers to features that are currently rolling out. To find out when these features will be live on your site, keep an eye on our release notes or the Atlassian Community.
If you’ve enabled responder alerts in your service project, Jira Service Management creates a responder alert in Opsgenie every time an incident is created in your project. By default, the responder alert created in your Opsgenie account only displays the link to the incident.
To be precise, creating responder alerts with incident details means;
The Summary field of the incident will be displayed on the Alert message field of the responder alert for up to 130 characters.
The Description field of the incident will be displayed in the Description field of the responder alert for up to 15000 characters. If the incident description is longer than 15000 characters, users can switch to the service project to view the full description.
To create responder alerts with incident details:
From your Jira Service Management, go to Settings () > Products > Incident management
Scroll down to the Responder alerts. Turn on the Use incident details when creating a responder alert option
You need to be a Jira admin to perform this action.
By enabling this option, you’re authorizing a data transition between your Jira Service Management and Opsgenie account.
Enabling this option will affect all your projects in your Jira Service Management.
