Link service projects to a help center

This feature is only available for users on Jira Service Management Premium and Enterprise plans. Read more about plans and pricing.

Linking service projects to a help center allows admins to display relevant help resources from them across the home page, in topics, and search. This ensures that users accessing a specific help center exclusively encounter information and resources tailored to their needs within that particular help center.

This is especially helpful when managing multiple help centers targeting distinct audience groups, as admins can control which content is visible in each help center and restrict access to certain projects for specific audience segments.

You need to be a site admin or Jira admin to link service projects to a help center.

To link one or more service projects to a help center:

  1. Go to Settings () > Products > Jira Service Management > Configuration.

  2. In the Help center section, select View all help centers.

  3. Select More (…) next to the help center you want to link projects to.

  4. Select Settings, and go to Projects.

  5. You’ll see a list of all your projects here. Select those you want to link to your help center.

  6. Select Link.

All help resources from these selected projects will now be available to be displayed on your help center, in topics and in search.

By default, all new projects are set up to be automatically linked to the help center. You can turn this setting off if you would prefer to manually link projects to a help center instead.

To turn off automatic linking of new service projects:

  1. Go to Settings () > Products > Jira Service Management > Configuration.

  2. In the Help center section, select View all help centers.

  3. Select More (…) next to the help center you want to make this change to.

  4. Select Settings, and go to Projects.

  5. Turn off the Link all new projects to this help center toggle.

To unlink one or more service projects from a help center:

  1. Go to Settings () > Products > Jira Service Management > Configuration.

  2. In the Help center section, select View all help centers.

  3. Select More (…) next to the help center you want to unlink projects from.

  4. Select Settings, and go to Projects.

  5. You’ll see a list of all your projects here. Select those you want to unlink from your help center.

  6. Select Unlink.

Unlinking a project removes all its help resources from that help center and it won’t be available to be displayed on the home page, in topics or in search. The portal of this service project will also not be visible in the help center.

To ensure your customers can access relevant information and resources, at least one project must be linked to your help center.
