Get started with Jira Service Management for admins
Your first stop for learning how to get started with Jira Service Management.
Assets Data Manager for Jira Service Management Cloud is currently rolling out in Open Beta and will be available to all Premium + Enterprise sites by end of October 2024.
To create a new Attribute:
Select Assets in the top navigation bar.
In the Assets landing page, select Configuration (heading row, top right).
Select the Data Manager tab and click the Data Manager button.
Select Settings at left.
Select Attributes, and then select +Add.
In the Add Attribute panel, complete the following fields:
Object - select an object associated with the attribute.
Name - enter a name for the new attribute.
Data type - select a data type for the attribute.
Primary key - select to make this attribute a primary key.
Secondary key - select to make this attribute a secondary key.
Importance - select to designate this attribute as an important attribute.
Snapshots - select to include this attribute as part of a Snapshot.
Normal / Computed - select between “Normal” and “Computed” attribute flags.
Select Save.
To edit an existing attribute:
Select Assets in the top navigation bar.
In the Assets landing page, select Configuration (heading row, top right).
Select the Data Manager tab and click the Data Manager button.
Select Settings at left.
Select Attributes.
Select the Attribute you wish to edit.
Select the … icon and select Edit.
To delete an existing attribute:
Select Assets in the top navigation bar.
In the Assets landing page, select Configuration (heading row, top right).
Select the Data Manager tab and click the Data Manager button.
Select Settings at left.
Select Attributes.
Select the Attribute you wish to delete.
Select the … icon and select Delete.
Modifying the priority of Attributes using the Up and Down buttons in the Attributes screen only changes the order in which those attributes are displayed on the screen.
If you want to modify the priority that Attributes have when multiple data sources are reconciled to create Data Manager Objects, you will need to modify this order using the Priority field or the Up and Down buttons on the Attribute Priority screen.
To modify the order in which Attributes are displayed on the screen:
Select Assets in the top navigation bar.
In the Assets landing page, select Data Manager.
Select Settings and then select Attribute priority.
Select Add.
Select an Object attribute that you’d like to change the priority for.
Use the Up and Down buttons to modify the order that the attributes are displayed.
