Customer permissions for your service desk and Jira site

You can set global and project permissions to define who can access and send requests to your service desks. Both Jira admins and project admins have a role to play in setting permissions:

  • Jira admins manage global customer permissions and decide how customers access the service desk. They can set permissions across all projects on a Jira Cloud site.

  • Project admins manage customer permissions for each project. They set access to:

    • who can view the portal

    • who can send requests to a service desk

    • who customers can share requests with

Project permissions depend on global permissions, which means you can have different customer permissions for a project depending on the people who need to access it.
