Add identity providers to connect portal-only customers

You can connect an identity provider and configure single sign-on for your customers (Jira Service Management) when you subscribe to Atlassian Access.

Admins can use identity providers to manage digital user identities, provide authentication services, and provision users to access Jira Service Management as portal-only customers. Learn more about supported identity providers

When admins connect an identity provider for customers, they’re able to:

  • manage identity provider directories

  • provision portal-only customers

  • apply single sign-on to portal-only customers

When you connect an identity provider with customers (known as users outside your company), you can authenticate your customers with SAML single sign-on (SSO). Learn how to connect an identity provider for portal-only customers

When your customers try to log in to your help center, we will redirect them to your identity provider to authenticate through single sign-on to access your help center without the need for them to sign up for accounts. If a customer already has an authenticated session with the identity provider (for example, following a link from within an authenticated environment), your help center recognizes them and they can bypass the login experience.
