Search for objects and object types

Assets in Jira Service Management is a Premium and Enterprise only feature. Learn more about Assets.

There are several ways to find objects in Assets. Using the search bar in the Assets overview page (the first page you land on when you select Assets in the top navigation bar) will show you results from across your schemas.

 

Search all object schemas for objects matching a specific label, key or ID

To search an object schema for objects matching a specific label, key or ID from the Assets overview page:

  1. Select Assets in the top navigation bar.

  2. Select an object schema from the list.

  3. Select the Search all schemas search bar at the top-right and enter a label, key, or ID, or select one from the dropdown list.

Users will only see the object schemas they have permission to access.

Assets overview page searches are limited to 20 objects and 10 object types

Searching through the Assets overview page will only show the top 20 most recently viewed results. To find more (or older) results, use the search function within a specifc object schema.

 

Search for objects by an attribute value (Basic search)

To search a single object schema for objects matching the value of an attribute, you can use the Basic search:

  1. Select Assets in the top navigation bar.

  2. Select an object schema from the list.

  3. Select an object type.

  4. Select Objects mode.

  5. Select the icon (in List view) or the Filter icon (in Detail view).

  6. Select the Basic tab.

  7. Select the attribute you wish to search by.

  8. Enter the value you want to search for, or select one or more options from the dropdown list.

 

Search for objects with Assets Query Language (AQL)

To search a single object schema for objects that match a specific Assets Query Language (AQL) statement, you can use the Advanced AQL search:

  1. Select Assets in the top navigation bar.

  2. Select an object schema from the list.

  3. Select an object type.

  4. Select Objects mode.

  5. Select the icon (in List view) or the Filter icon (in Detail view).

  6. Select the Advanced AQL tab.

  7. Enter your AQL query.

  8. Select Update filter. The results of the query will be pre-filtered by the currently selected object type.
