Import an object schema

Importing an object schema is a way to bring one or more complete object schemas from the Insight Asset Management Cloud app to Insight in Jira Service Management.

Importing an object schema is only available to customers with both the Insight Asset Management Cloud app and Insight in Jira Service Management.

To import an object schema, you need to be logged in as a Jira admin or Insight manager.

  1. From your service project, go to Insight > Configure Insight.

  2. Under the Import object schema tab, select Begin import to begin your import.

  3. In the Upload file screen:

    1. Select Upload file and choose a file to upload.

    2. If you would like to set a password on your data, enter the password in the Password field. You can make the password visible by selecting Show password, under the password field.

    3. Select which data you would like to import:

      1. Include objects - include objects only.

      2. Include object avatars - include objects and object avatars.

      3. Include attachments - include objects and attachments.

    4. Select Next. The file will be uploaded and analysed automatically.

  4. In the Rename object schemas screen, you can change the name or key of the object schemas that you are importing, then select Next.

  5. In the Confirm screen you can review the details of the object schemas you are about to import. When you are satisfied, select Import.

  6. When the import is complete, you will see a notification that your file has been successfully imported.

Importing larger object schemas may take some time. Your import will continue in the background if you leave the page.
