Request approval from approvers associated with a service

The features described in this article are available for service desk projects using the early access IT service management template. Learn how to access the new ITSM template.

Requesting approval from the approvers associated with a service allows them to flag, review, and approve changes to reduce the risk of impacting service quality.

Before you begin, make sure you:

To request approval from the approvers associated with a service:

  1. From your service desk project, select Project settings > Workflows.

  2. Select the edit icon for the workflow you wish to edit.

  3. Select the required approval step in the workflow.

  4. If not already selected, select the Add approval checkbox and select Configure.

  5. From the Include approvers from service drop-down menu, select Affected services.

  6. Edit any additional fields if required.

  7. Click Create.

  8. Click Publish draft.

Once you’ve set up your workflow, you’ll need to add the appropriate service to the affected services field on any requests.
