Read the hardware overview

Hardware asset management is available with Jira Service Management Premium and Enterprise.

To view data in the hardware overview, you must have hardware User or Administrator permissions, as well as Assets view permissions on the hardware schema where your data resides.

Use the overview to view the state of your hardware and jump straight to the objects behind any chart.

Open the overview

  1. In the left navigation, select Hardware.

  2. From the tabs at the top, select Overview.

  3. Use the insights panel to get hardware insights from Rovo. More about hardware insights

  4. The overview shows your charts — single-number charts (such as the count of hardware in a status) and breakdown charts (such as hardware by status, location, or type).

See exact values

  1. Hover over a part of a chart to see its exact value in a tooltip.

Drill down to the hardware behind a chart

  1. Select a segment of a chart — for example, the In repair slice of a hardware-by-status chart.

  2. A glance opens listing the objects behind that segment, with a link to each one.

  3. Select an object to open its details, or select Open in Assets to see its full object page.

You can switch between the default overview and any saved custom dashboards using the view selector. To build your own, see Build custom hardware dashboards.

Changing how a chart itself works — such as viewing its underlying data table or changing its appearance — is part of dashboards and charts in Jira, and is covered in the Jira dashboards documentation.
