Manage who can access hardware

Use the hardware roles to control who can access hardware asset management and who can manage it. Assigning a role is only part of the picture — access to hardware data, requests, and automations comes from other permissions too. There are two hardware roles:

• Administrator — can access hardware asset management and manage it, including everything in Hardware settings (tracking, automations, stock and depreciation rules, request types, Rovo skills, and access). Managing a request type or automation still depends on the person also having the relevant space or Jira automation permission.

• User — can access hardware asset management features. Users can't open Hardware settings.

Open the Access settings

1. In the left navigation, select Hardware.

2. To the right, select More actions ( … ).

3. Select Hardware settings.

4. In the settings left navigation, select Access.See who has access

5. Open the Access settings.

6. Use the Role selector to choose a role — for example, Admin. The list shows the people who have that role.

7. Switch the Role selector to view the people in each other role.

Give someone access

1. Open the Access settings.

2. Select Add people.

3. Search for and select the person you want to add.

4. Choose the role to give them — Administrator or User.

5. Confirm to add them. They now have the access that role provides.

Change someone's access

1. Open the Access settings and find the person you want to update.

2. In their Actions, select Edit.

3. Update their role, then save your changes.

Remove someone's access

1. Open the Access settings and find the person you want to remove.

2. In their Actions, select the Remove access icon.

3. Confirm to remove their access. They can no longer use hardware asset management features through this role.
