Hardware automation template catalogue
Hardware asset management is available with Jira Service Management Premium and Enterprise.
To set it up, you must be a Jira admin and an Assets admin.
Automation templates are ready-made rules that keep your hardware and work in step — for example, tracking work items through their lifecycle, auto-assigning requested hardware, or replenishing stock. Automations are built on Jira automation.

Fulfill hardware procurement | When hardware procurement is approved, creates a request with the supplier, ships the hardware, and creates the hardware object. |
Process hardware shipments | When hardware shipment is approved, creates a request with the shipping carrier and updates the request once shipping is completed. |
Process inventory transfers | When hardware transfer is approved, ships the hardware to the destination and updates the new stockroom and status for the hardware. |
Fulfill hardware requests | When hardware request is approved, finds or procures the hardware, ships it to the employee, and updates its status and assignee. |
Process hardware returns | When hardware return is approved, ships the hardware back to the stockroom, cleanses it, and updates its status. |
Coordinate hardware refreshes | When hardware refresh is approved, requests new hardware and returns the old hardware. |
Process hardware disposals | When hardware disposal is approved, cleanses the hardware and assigns the team or vendor based on the disposal method. |
Route hardware repairs | When hardware repair is approved, creates a request with internal or external teams or vendor based on warranty status. |
Provision and configure hardware | When hardware configuration is approved, triggers a request to set up software on the device management tool and updates restrictions based on policies. |
