Customize the navigation bar
This topic is about Modern help centers. Find out which help center you're using.
In a Modern help center, the navigation bar shows at the top of every page. It holds your logo and links to the help center's pages, so customers can move around the help center. You can change how it looks and how it behaves when customers scroll.
The navigation bar's links come from the site tree. Each folder in the site tree shows as a dropdown menu. Learn how to add and organize pages in a help center.
What you can change
In a Modern help center, you can change the navigation bar's:

Padding. Add margins around the navigation bar.
Scroll behavior. Choose whether the bar stays fixed at the top of the screen while customers scroll, or scrolls away with the page.
To change the logo, go to Global styles, then the Branding tab. Learn how to brand your help centers.
Customize the navigation bar
To customize the navigation bar in a Modern help center:
Select Help centers in the left navigation sidebar.
On the card for the help center you want to edit, select Customize help center (pencil icon).
In the toolbar, select Global styles, then select the Navigation tab.
Change the settings you want.
Select Publish.
The navigation bar is the same on every page, so your changes apply across the help center.
Search in the navigation bar
In a Modern help center, a search icon shows in the navigation bar when Rovo is turned off, or when the page doesn't have a search box at the top. Customers can use it to search request forms and knowledge base articles. When Rovo is turned on, customers can also ask Rovo from the button in the corner of the page.
