Link Jira Service Management with Jenkins

Changes to Jira Service Management Free and Standard

As of October 16, 2024, change management in Jira Service Management has moved from Standard to Premium. Existing service projects in Free and Standard will continue to support existing request types and work types. Read more about the plan changes.

To access Jira Service Management Premium features, subscribe to a Service Collection Premium or Enterprise plan.

To link Jira Service Management with Jenkins, you need to be using the IT service management template, and have integrated Jira Cloud with Jenkins.

To connect Jenkins to your Jira Service Management Cloud project:

  1. From your service project, select Space settings, then Operations, then Change management..

  2. Select Connect Pipeline Jenkins, then copy the Service ID at the end of the set-up flow.

  3. Go to Jenkins, select the Pipeline you want to associate with this service, and select Build with Parameters.

  4. Paste the Service ID from the change management set-up flow into the Build with Parameters field.

Now that you’ve linked Jira Service Management with Jenkins, you can use deployment tracking and deployment gating.
