Show a workflow transition in the portal
You can show transitions (for example, Escalate, Resolve, or Cancel) in the portal so customers can transition requests themselves. Customer transitions in the portal do behave differently however than other workflow transitions, for example:
Screens don't display in the portal. You can set a resolution for work items that are transitioned in the portal.
Transitioning a work item from the portal ignores validators for the transition.
Add a transition to the portal
To edit an existing transition in an active workflow:
From your service space, select Space settings, then Workflows.
Select the edit icon next to the workflow you want to show a transition for.
Select Diagram to open the diagram view.
Make sure Show transition labels is selected.
Select a transition in the workflow.
To limit access to specific users or roles, configure a condition under the transition by selecting Add condition. Read more about using the workflow editor.
Select Show transition on the customer portal.
Customers with access to your service space will now be able to transition requests in the portal.
