Create a service space
Jira Service Management has a number of space templates tailored to a specific team or use. When creating a service space, selecting the template that best suits the needs of your team will help them to get set up and using their space quickly. Templates include pre-configured request types, workflows, and other features. Discover the different types of space templates.
Only Jira admins can create spaces.
Create a service space
To create a service space using a template:
From your sidebar, select next to Spaces.
Select the Service management category, then select the template that best suits your work. Review the template details then select Use template. For some templates, you’ll have the option of a team-managed or company-managed space type. Read about the difference between these space types.
On the Create space screen:
Enter a name for your space.
Create a space key or use the key generated for you.
Select the type of team that will be using the space to manage incoming requests.
Select Change template if you want to switch to a different template.
If you’re creating a team-managed space:
If you’re creating a company-managed space, you’ll have the option to bring settings from another space into the one you’re creating by selecting Share settings with an existing space and then selecting a space from the dropdown list. This will duplicate the set-up of that space and overwrite your current template selection.
Select Create space.
If you’ve created a company-managed space, you'll see a welcome screen with a gallery showcasing the default request types included in the template you chose. You’ll also have the option to preview, add, or remove request types, allowing for greater flexibility and helping to ensure that your space is tailored to meet your team’s specific needs.
Use the Added to space filter on the left to see all the request types for your space.
Use the categories on the left to browse the request type template library to find the one that's the best starting point for what you need.
Preview a request type to see the form fields your customers will fill out when raising a request in the portal.
Select a request type and review the request type’s details like the work type it’s associated with, and the portal group(s) it will show up in. Select Add when you're done.
Select Remove to remove a request type from your space.
When you’ve finished editing your list of request types, select Continue to space.
Later, you can go to Space settings then Request types to see and edit the fields of the request types you've added to your space.
