Bulk add services to integration create alert rules

You can associate alerts and integrations with services in Jira Service Management to give more context to on-call teams and streamline incident response.

Adding services to integration Create alert rules ensures that new alerts are created with the right service context.

When a service is set on a create alert rule:

  • New alerts created by that integration automatically include the service as the affected service

  • Service-based routing and notifications can apply immediately

Bulk add services to create alert rules

If you manage multiple integrations, you can bulk edit the Create alert rule of integrations to add a service to multiple integrations.

  1. Go to Operations General configuration.

  2. Select Integrations.

  3. Select one or more integrations from the list.

  4. Select the action bar appearing at the bottom of your screen.

  5. Select Add service to alert rules.

  6. Under Service name, enter the service using the custom payload syntax (for example, {{_payload.serviceName}}).

  7. Select Add service.

The service value you entered will be used to set the affected service when the integration creates alerts.

If a rule already has a predefined service, the bulk edit adds the new service in addition to the existing one. Both service mappings will be retained.

Review service mappings carefully
If a service is added to a create alert rule incorrectly, you must edit the rule directly to update or remove it. Bulk edits do not automatically override or delete existing dynamic service mappings. Any changes apply only to new alerts created after the rule is updated.
