Jira projects come with features tailored to the type of work you want to carry out. For example, software projects come with features like a board and backlog. Service projects come with features like a queue and customer portal.

In team-managed software projects, you can enable and disable different features to suit your team's needs. For example, you can add a backlog when your board gets too busy. And, you can do this at any time during the lifetime of your project. Find out more about team-managed features.
