What is the Docs feature?

The Docs feature helps your team stay aligned and collaborate more effectively by linking your Confluence content to your Jira space.

Track work and view documents in one place
Connect a Confluence space, folder, or page so everyone can easily view, edit, and create docs from Jira. No need to switch between tools.

Get started with the Docs feature

To use Docs in Jira, you’ll need to add the feature and then connect a Confluence space, folder, or page. How to set up the Docs feature

Once you’ve connected a Confluence space, you can view all its folders and pages on the Docs tab in your Jira space.

Search and filter docs in Jira

You can find content by typing in the search bar, or using the following options:

  • Type: Filter the content to show pages and live docs, whiteboards, or folders.

  • Sort: Arrange content alphabetically, or match the default order.

Select a content item to open it in a preview panel where you can edit, add comments, share, or open in a new tab.

Create content via Docs in Jira

You can create new content items in Confluence via the Docs feature in Jira:

  1. Select Create at the bottom of the list of content, or hover over a content item and select Create child item (+).

  2. Select a content type: Live Doc, Page, or Whiteboard.

  3. Enter a title and add some content to the body.

  4. Select Open in Confluence if you’d prefer to continue creating in a new tab.

Tip: Try using a Confluence template to create what you need faster. Read more about templates
