Add an attachment to an issue

Attachments give context to an issue that text can’t provide.

To add an attachment to an issue:

  1. Open an issue.

  2. Drag and drop your file onto the issue.

Alternatively, you can:

  1. Open an issue.

  2. Scroll down to the Attachments section and click +.

  3. Click Upload a file or drag and drop your files into the media picker.

Some considerations for attached files:

  • File formats: GIF, JPG, and PNG.

  • File names can't contain any of these characters: '\', '/','\"', '%', ':', '$', '?', '*'.

  • By default, the maximum size of any one file is 10MB, but your Jira admin can change this limit.

The Free plans for Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Jira Core have a file storage limit of 2 GB per product. The Standard plan allows up to 250 GB per product, and file storage is unlimited on Premium plans. Learn more
