Use Atlassian Intelligence to help write or edit content

What can I use Atlassian Intelligence for?

Currently, Atlassian Intelligence can freely generate, summarize, or transform the description and comments in issues. Atlassian Intelligence can be used to:

  • Transform existing content. For example, changing the tone, improving writing, and making technical information easier for other teams to understand.

  • Summarize existing content. For example, turning rough notes into useful issue descriptions.

  • Generate new content. For example, creating a table with the most important browsers to test.

Atlassian Intelligence can help your team save time and improve their productivity.

How do I use Atlassian Intelligence?

Explore the possibilities of Atlassian Intelligence for generating new content or improving existing text. Follow the steps below to make the most of this tool:

Generate new content with Atlassian Intelligence

There are several ways you can easily create content with Atlassian Intelligence.

  1. Create a new issue, or edit an existing issue.

  2. Select the Atlassian Intelligence icon from the toolbar when editing the issue description or a comment.

  3. Enter a prompt or select an option from the list.

  4. Press Enter

  5. Once finished, you can review the response and add it to your issue, or follow up with an additional prompt.

You can also access Atlassian Intelligence by typing /ai when editing an issue description or comment.

Not sure where to start?

Here’s some suggestions when generating new content:

  • Create user stories based on these requirements in the following structure: “When… I want to… So I can…”

  • Suggest subtasks to break down this Story

  • Generate acceptance criteria from this issue description

  • Brainstorm edge cases to test for during QA

  • Provide feedback on areas where this issue description could be more clear

Edit existing content with Atlassian Intelligence

Atlassian Intelligence can be used to quickly improve your writing by finding typos, simplifying language, and more.

  1. While in the edit mode, highlight text in an issue description or comment.

  2. Select the Atlassian Intelligence button that appears above the highlighted text.

  3. Enter in a prompt or select an option from the list.

  4. Press Enter

  5. Once finished, you can review the response and add it to your issue, or follow up with an additional prompt.

Here’s a few things to try edit some existing content:

  • Pull out common themes from this issue description

  • Explain this like I am five

  • Put the content of this page into steps
