Change iteration capacity from your timeline

The capacity of your iterations can fluctuate for several reasons. Examples include public holidays, a sick team member, or team members spread across different projects. If you’re using time-based estimates, the default capacity is 200 weekly hours. If you’re using story points, the default setting is 30 story points per iteration. You can keep the sprint (and therefore your plan) accurate by editing its capacity via the sprint details flyout.

The length of the iteration is inherited from the team’s settings.

Change the capacity of an iteration from your timeline in Advanced Roadmaps for Jira Software Cloud.

To change the capacity of a sprint from your timeline:

  1. Enable capacity planning on your timeline.

  2. Select a sprint to open the sprint capacity information window.

  3. Select the number next to the Sprint capacity field, as shown below, and enter a new value.

  4. Use the checkmark to confirm the change.

This can be done for active and future sprints.
