Remove and delete teams from your plan

This page refers to the advanced planning features that are only available as part of Jira Software Cloud Premium and Enterprise.

We have a separate section for documentation about the project timeline that’s included in all Jira Software projects. Go to the documentation for project-level roadmaps in Jira Software.

When a team is no longer needed, you can remove them from your plan.

If you’re using an Atlassian team, you can simply remove it from your plan and the team entity still exists across your organization. However, if you remove a plan-only team, it ceases to exist elsewhere and can’t be recovered.

To remove an Atlassian team:

  1. In the Teams view, find the team you want to remove, and select more (•••) > Remove. This removes the team from your plan, and adds the change to your list of changes in the Review changes modal.

  2. Use the Review changes button to save your changes to your plan.

You can’t fully delete an Atlassian team from your plan. Learn how to delete an Atlassian team.

To delete a plan-only team:

  1. In the Teams view, find the team you want to remove, and select more (•••) > Delete.

  2. Confirm you want to delete the team. This change is applied right away.
