Learn how company-managed and team-managed projects differ

We have two types of projects: company-managed and team-managed (formerly known as classic and next-gen) projects in Jira Software Cloud. Company-managed projects are set up and maintained by Jira admins, and provide advanced configuration options and powerful features. Team-managed projects are able to be set up and maintained by anyone on a team, with simplified configuration to get up and running quickly.
