How do features differ based on project types?

Jira projects come with features tailored to the type of work you want to carry out. For example, software projects come with features like a board and backlog. Service projects come with features like a queue and customer portal.

In team-managed software projects, you can enable and disable different features to suit your team's needs. For example, you can add a backlog when your board gets too busy. And, you can do this at any time during the lifetime of your project. Learn more about team-managed features.

In company-managed projects, Jira couples features with the project template used to create a project. Once you've picked a template, you're locked into the features that come with it. Learn more about company-managed project templates.
