What are space insights?

Spaceinsights brings together key data from your Jira space in customizable dashboards. You can use charts, lists, smart links, and activity streams to understand your team’s work and progress.

When you select Reports in Jira, the Team overview dashboard opens by default. Use the dashboard menu to switch between Team overview, Agents, and any other dashboards created for the space.

What’s included with space insights?

  • Centralized insights: See all your space's key metrics and activity in one place.

  • Flexible layouts: Arrange, resize, and filter widgets to match your team’s workflow.

  • Actionable data: Dig into charts, preview work items, and use Rovo to interpret trends and generate new charts with natural language.

  • Collaboration: Spaceinsights are visible to your whole team, making it easy to share progress and align on goals.

Using space insights

Anyone with access to the space can view and filter Spaceinsights dashboards. Only space admins can create dashboards or rename, edit, and delete existing dashboards. Filters reset when you close the tab.

View your space insights

  1. In Jira, select Reports from the space navigation.

  2. Your insights appear, showing widgets such as charts, lists, and activity streams.

  3. Hover over a chart to see a tooltip with raw numbers, or select a segment to preview related work items in the sidebar.

  4. Select Insights on a chart to view Rovo’s analysis of historical trends in your data.

To access classic Jira reports, select More reports at the top of the page.

Manage your space insights

A Jira space can contain up to five Spaceinsight dashboards. Space admins can create additional dashboards or rename, edit, and delete existing dashboards.

Default insight templates include Team overview and Agents dashboards.

The space insights page can only display data from one Jira space. If you want to show data from multiple spaces, you can create a Jira dashboard.

  2. Drag and drop widgets to reorder them.

  3. Resize widgets by selecting Expand ().

  4. Apply filters to the page to focus on specific data (for example, you might filter by assignee or priority).

  5. Select Done to save your changes.

Add a widget

When you add a widget, you can choose from a range of templates or build your own using one of the following widget types:

  • Chart: Seven chart styles are available, with grouping and filtering options. You can also use Rovo to create a chart by describing what you’d like in natural language.

  • Smart Link: Embed a Confluence page or project link.

  • Activity stream: An activity feed filtered by a space, group, or user.
