Set up Jira Software Cloud
Learn how to set up Jira Software Cloud and integrate it with other products and applications.
This page refers to Advanced Roadmaps, which is a cross-project planning tool only available as part of Jira Software Cloud Premium and Enterprise.
We have a separate section for documentation about the project timeline that’s included in all Jira Software plans. Go to the documentation for project-level roadmaps in Jira Software.
To change how Advanced Roadmaps displays dependencies in your plan:
From the Roadmap view of your plan, navigate to the View settings menu on the right side of your plan.
Use the Dependency style dropdown to choose your dependency style.
If you’re looking at the list of your plan, you’ll only be able to see the Incoming dependencies and Outgoing dependencies columns. Learn how to show or hide your timeline bars.
When looking at the timeline, you can choose from either of the following options:
Badges adds a badge icon to either end of your schedule bar to show that a dependency is linked to that issue.
You can add the number of dependencies to badges using the Show number of dependencies checkbox underneath the Dependency style dropdown menu. This option is only available when you have badges selected. To view this number while viewing lines, hover over the schedule bar and the number will appear.
Lines connects dependent issues on your timeline with lines.
If Advanced Roadmaps can’t display a line between two dependent issues, or if the dependency connects to an issue not included in your plan, a badge icon will be shown instead. To view the number of dependencies, hover over the schedule bar.
The line will turn red if there are conflicting dates. To resolve this, change the start or end date associated with the dependency.
If the dependency connects to an issue not included in your plan, or if the line can't be displayed for any other reason, Advanced Roadmaps will show the icon instead.
