Show full hierarchy while filtering issues on your plan

This page refers to the advanced planning features that are only available as part of Jira Cloud Premium and Enterprise.

When you add filters to your plan, only issues that meet your criteria are shown. However, you can use the Show full hierarchy option in the Filters menu to view all of the child issues that belong to those filtered issues, even if they don’t match your criteria.

For example, you add a filter to only show issues assigned to Release A. Among other issues, your plan contains an Epic assigned to that release with four child issues. However, only two of those issues are assigned to Release A. With Show full hierarchy disabled, you’ll only see the Epic with the two child issues that are assigned to that release. With it on, you’ll see all four child issues, even though two of them aren’t assigned to that release.

To show full hierarchy when filtering:

  1. Open the Filters menu

  2. Toggle the Show full hierarchy checkbox at the bottom
