Jira Automation docs have moved

All content related to Jira Cloud Automation, previously under the Automate your Jira processes and workflows section, have moved to the new Cloud Automation docs.

Go to Cloud Automation documentation | Why did we do this?

Save a new view in Advanced Roadmaps

This page refers to Advanced Roadmaps, which is a cross-project planning tool only available as part of Jira Software Cloud Premium and Enterprise.

We have a separate section for documentation about the project roadmap that’s included in all Jira Software plans. Go to the documentation for project-level roadmaps in Jira Software.

Whether you’ve modified a preconfigured view or have created your own custom view, save the changes you’ve made with the Save this view button next to the View settings menu. Or if you want to save your changes as a new view, use the Save as new view in the dropdown menu next to it.

If you choose to save it as a new view, you can select the Make default for everyone checkbox to make this the view users see when accessing your plan for the first time.

If you want to make an existing view the default view, you’ll need to navigate to the view management screen. Learn how on the Manage and delete views in Advanced Roadmaps page.

Simultaneous edits to a view

If another user is working on the same view as you and makes a change to it before you save, a modal with two options will appear. You can either Overwrite the changes they’ve made which will get rid of their changes in favor of yours. Alternatively, you can Save your changes as a new view which will preserve the other user’s changes and save yours in a new, separate view.

Once you’ve made your decision, select Confirm to continue.

Untitled [Draft] views

You may also see an Untitled [Draft] view while accessing plans in your instance. There are two reasons you’ll see this:

  1. You’re accessing an existing plan with issue filters and view settings that were previously configured but not saved. You can finalize this draft by saving it as a new view.

  2. Someone else deletes your view as you’re working on it.
