What are forms and what can they do?

Forms allow you to collect information and capture work from other teams or stakeholders. You can create different types of forms to receive different types of work from your stakeholders.

Forms can be used to:

  • Help people outside your immediate team send work to your project team.

  • Collect the right information from other teams and stakeholders from within your organization.

  • Gather feedback or ideas on your team’s work.

You can create as many forms as you like for your project.

View form responses

When someone submit a response to a form, their response will automatically create a work item in the same project where the form lives. The following labels will be added to each work item:

  • Form

  • Form-<unique-form-id>

If the user submitting the form doesn’t have permission to create work within your project, the project lead becomes the creator instead.

Selecting the type of work

When you create a form, you need to select which type of work item will be created in your project when a form is submitted (for example, Task).

Each work type includes different form field options, depending on the information you want to collect. You will be able to select any work type from within your project, except for subtasks.

Your project will only show other work types if you have more than one for your project.
