Atlassian Intelligence in Jira Software can translate what you type into a query that searches for issues. Atlassian Intelligence can be used to:

  • Quickly and easily search for issues. Ask AI what you want in everyday language instead of coming up with complex queries.

What does searching for issues with Atlassian Intelligence look like?

  1. Search: Type in what you’re looking for. More detail means better search results.

  2. Go: Atlassian Intelligence will translate what you’re looking for into a JQL query.

  3. Exit: Leave AI and go back to Basic or JQL search.

Search for issues with Atlassian Intelligence

To search for issues with Atlassian Intelligence:

  1. From your software project, go to Issues. If you don’t see Issues, ask your admin to turn the issue navigator feature on.

  2. Select AI.

  3. Type in what you’re looking for.

  4. Select Go ().

Not sure where to start?

Here’s a few things to search for:

  • Issues in a <project> created in the last 30 days.

  • <issue type> resolved this month.

  • Issues that are still open in closed sprints.

What are the limitations of searching for issues with AI?

  • Atlassian Intelligence can only do searches that can be expressed as a JQL query. Learn more about JQL.

  • Atlassian Intelligence isn’t connected to live data sources, so it can’t assume the context in which you’re searching. Be clear about what you’re searching for.

  • Atlassian Intelligence may create JQL functions that are incorrect or don’t work.
