Set up Jira Software Cloud
Learn how to set up Jira Software Cloud and integrate it with other products and applications.
The command palette allows you to navigate, search, and work in Jira with just your keyboard.
If you’re a Mac user, press command + K to open the command palette.
If you’re a Windows user, press Ctrl + K to open the command palette.
These commands allow you to work on or update the selected issue. You’ll only see these commands when you're viewing an issue.
You’ll also see the issue that you’ve selected above the list of issue actions (see the example image).
Command | Description |
---|---|
Change status | Change the status of the selected issue and move it through the workflow. Also known as “transitioning an issue” For example, changing the status from To do to In progress. |
Assign to me | Set yourself as the assignee for the selected issue. |
Edit description | Edit the description of the selected issue. |
Add comment | Add a new comment to the selected issue. |
Add attachment | Attach a file to the selected issue. |
Clone issue | Open the Clone issue pop-up. You’ll be able to enter a new summary and choose what fields to copy over before cloning the selected issue. |
Start watching issue | Set yourself as a watcher on the selected issue to receive notifications about any changes to the issue. |
Add flag | Flag the selected issue to indicate that it’s important to you. |
Log work | Open the Log work pop-up. You’ll be able to add or track time spent working on the selected issue. |
Link Confluence page | Add a Confluence page link to the selected issue. |
Add a URL | Add any URL to the selected issue. For example, a link to a relevant web page. |
Project navigation commands let you seamlessly move to pages within a project.
Command | Description |
---|---|
Go to backlog | Navigate to the Backlog for the project you’re in to plan upcoming work. |
Go to board | Navigate to the Board for the project you’re in to track how work is progressing. |
Go to reports | Navigate to the Reports view for the project you’re in to see dashboards and insights. |
Go to timeline | Navigate to the Timeline view for the project you’re in to visualize large pieces of work. |
View all issues | Navigate to the Issues view for the project you’re in to search or bulk edit issues. |
Site navigation commands take you to pages connected to your Atlassian account (rather than just a singular project) so you can get high level view of all projects, boards, issues, etc.

View all issues | Navigate to a page where you can see a list of all issues across all projects you’re in. |
View all projects | Navigate to the projects page where you can see a list of all the projects you’re in. |
View all boards | Navigate to the boards page where you can see a list of all the boards you have access to. |
View all filters | Navigate to the filters page where you can access any of your saved issues searches. |
View all dashboards | Navigate to the dashboards page where you can see all the dashboards you’ve created. |
View all plans | Navigate to the plans page where you can see all the plans linked to your Atlassian account. |
Atlassian admin commands take you to pages were you can manage the billing and users across your Atlassian products. You’ll only see these commands if you have permission to access the pages.

Go to user management | Opens the user management page in a new tab. You can add, remove, and manage users. |
Go to billing | Opens the billing page in a new tab where you can manage your subscriptions and billing details. |
Jira settings commands help you navigate to the various settings pages where you configure, edit, and control your Jira site. You can browse settings pages in the command palette or simple search for a page in the search bar if you know what you’re looking for. You’ll only see these commands if you have permission to access the pages.

System settings | Opens a list of system settings pages in the command palette. From there you can press enter on the page you’d like to navigate to. |
Product settings | Opens a list of product settings pages in the command palette. From there you can press enter on the page you’d like to navigate to. |
Projects settings | Opens a list of project settings pages in the command palette. From there you can press enter on the page you’d like to navigate to. |
Issue settings | Opens a list of issue settings pages in the command palette. From there you can press enter on the page you’d like to navigate to. |
App settings | Opens a list of app settings pages in the command palette. From there you can press enter on the page you’d like to navigate to. |
Personal settings commands allow you to quickly change themes or go to settings pages where you can manage your details and other personal preferences.
Commands | Description |

Switch to dark theme | Changes your Jira to the dark theme. You wont see this command if you’re already using dark theme. |
Switch to light theme | Changes your Jira to the light theme. You wont see this command if you’re already using light theme. |
Match system theme | Matches your Jira theme to your operating system theme. You wont see this command if you’ve already set you preference to match system theme. |
Go to personal settings | Navigate to the personal settings page. |
Go to account settings | Navigate to the account settings page. |
Help commands give you tips and access to support.
Commands | Description |

Get help | Opens the help sidebar where you can browse our support articles. |
View keyboard shortcuts | Opens a pop-up that lists all of Jira’s keyboard shortcuts. |
