We're updating our terminology in Jira

'Issue' is changing to 'work item'. You might notice some inconsistencies while this big change takes place.

Add or remove fields from your form

You have the flexibility to include certain fields in your projects' forms.

Add fields to your form

Once you select a work type for your form, the Fields section will display all the fields that are available for that work type. Simply drag and drop the field you’d like to include in your form, and then edit them.

Remove fields from your form

To remove a field from your form:

  1. Select a field.

  2. Select Remove field ().

Or alternatively, you can drag the field back over to the Fields section.

System fields vs custom fields in forms

The following system fields are supported in forms:

  • Summary

  • Description

  • Attachment

  • Due date

  • Priority

  • Labels

Custom fields can also be added. These include:

  • Assignee

  • Affected services (software projects)

  • Category

  • Components (software projects)

  • Compass components (software projects)

  • Date picker

  • Date time picker

  • Group picker (single groups)

  • Group picker (multiple groups)

  • Labels

  • Number

  • Parent

  • People (team-managed projects)

  • Radio buttons

  • Select list (cascading)

  • Select list (multiple choices)

  • Select list (single choice)

  • Sprint (software projects)

  • Story points (software projects)

  • Text (multi-line)

  • Text (single line)

  • URL field

  • Versions (software projects)

You may want to include more details in your forms beyond the default fields. A project admin can do this by setting up a new work type scheme and then adding custom fields. More about custom fields
