Change the work type for multiple work items
You can change the work type of multiple work items at once.
You need to have the relevant project permissions to change work types.
Change the work type of multiple work items from the backlog
You can only change the work type of multiple work items from the backlog if you’re in a software project.
To change the work type of multiple work items from the backlog:
Select multiple work items from the backlog. You can either:
use the work item checkboxes
hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) while selecting work items
hold the Shift key to select a group of adjacent work items
Select More actions (•••) on one of the selected work items, then select Bulk change.
Select Move work items and select Next.
Select the same destination project, choose a new work type, and select Next.
Select a value for any required fields for this move, and if available, decide whether you'd like to send email notifications. Select Next.
Review your changes and select Confirm, then Acknowledge.
Change the work type of multiple work items from the board
You can only change the work type of multiple work items from the board if you’re in a software project.
To change the work type of multiple work items from the board:
Select multiple work items from the board. You can either:
hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) while selecting work items
hold the Shift key to select a group of adjacent work items
Right-click or select More actions (•••) on one of the selected work items, then select Bulk change.
Select Move work items and select Next.
Select the same destination project, choose a new work type, and select Next.
Select a value for any required fields for this move, and if available, decide whether you'd like to send email notifications. Select Next.
Review your changes and select Confirm, then Acknowledge.
Change the work type of multiple work items from the work item navigator
To change the work type of multiple work items from the All work view:
From your project navigation, select All work.
Adjust the search criteria to show the appropriate list of work items.
Select More actions (•••) and choose Bulk change work items.
Select the work items you'd like to perform the bulk operation on, and select Next.
Select Move work items and select Next.
Select the same destination project, choose a new work type, and select Next.
Select a value for any required fields for this move, and if available, decide whether you'd like to send email notifications. Select Next.
Review your changes and select Confirm.
