Categorize work items in the list view

This page is for business spaces

To check whether you’re in a business or software space, select More actions (•••) next to the space name in either the header or the sidebar. At the bottom of the menu that opens, your space details will be shown.

Organize and break down your team’s work by grouping your work items by category. Use categories to classify your space's work items or represent a large body of work that can be broken down into a number of smaller work items.

Display or hide the category column

To display the category as a column on your list, you can:

  1. Select the plus icon () at the top right of your list. A dropdown menu will appear.

  2. Use the checkbox to add the Category column to your list.

To hide the category as a column from your list:

  1. Hover over the Category column header and select More actions ().

  2. Select Remove column.

Add, edit, or delete a category

  • Only space admins can add or edit categories. If you don’t have space admin permission, the category field will be locked.

  • Only one category can be added to a work item.

To configure the categories in your list:

  1. Navigate to the list view of your space.

  2. Hover over the Category column header and select More actions (•••).

  3. Select Edit field.

A side panel will open where you can add new category options, edit existing categories, delete them, or change their color. Refresh your screen to view the applied changes.

Alternatively, hover over the value of each row and select Edit or Delete when they appear.
