Link and unlink goals to issues in your Jira list

To use goals in your Jira project, you’ll need to either have an existing Atlas workspace or sign up to our Platform Experiences early access program (EAP).

You can link goals to issues within Jira projects and track how your work contributes to your team and organization’s goals.

Create a goal in your list

To link a goal to an issue in your list:

  1. Navigate to the list view of your Jira project.

  2. Check that you have the Goals field enabled. How to add or remove fields in your list

  3. Under the Goals field, select the corresponding cell for the issue you want to create a goal for.

  4. Select Add goal then + Create.

  5. Give your new goal a name, assign an owner, then select Create.

To link a goal to an issue in your list:

  1. Navigate to the list view of your Jira project.

  2. Check that you have the Goals field enabled. How to add or remove fields in your list

  3. Under the Goals column, select the corresponding cell for the issue you want to link a goal to.

  4. There are two ways to link a goal:

    1. Search for a goal, then press Enter on your keyboard.

    2. Paste a link to a goal, then select Add.

To unlink a goal from an issue in your list:

  1. Navigate to the list view of your Jira project.

  2. Under the Goals column, select the corresponding cell for the goal you want to unlink.

  3. Hover over the goal then select to unlink it from the issue.
