What is the calendar view of your plan?

The Calendar view shows scheduled work in your plan in a calendar format. This view in plans functions very similarly to that of the calendar view in Projects with a few key changes.

View your work on a calendar in Jira Software Premium

The calendar view shows issues that:

  • have been scheduled using the Start date and Due date fields

  • inherit both dates from a sprint assignment

  • inherit both dates from a release

Issues scheduled using rolled-up dates don’t appear on this view.

Schedule issues

You can reschedule issues by dragging and dropping the work item to the new date, or dragging one side of an issue’s bar to change the duration; doing so overwrites any inferred dates. See more about scheduling issues by dates.

View sprints and releases

Sprints and releases show on the calendar view based on their dates. You can select

The Calendar view in Plans doesn’t support rescheduling sprints or releases unlike the project version of this screen.

View settings

The calendar view focuses on a very specific window of time in your plan. As such, it can only show a limited number of issues at once due to space constraints. If you exceed this number, you’ll see page numbers at the bottom of the view which you can flip through to find the issues you want to see.

Alternatively, you can use the menus at the top of the page to view only specific issues. These filters don’t remove issues from your plan, they just hide them from the view so you can focus on a specific part. See what filters are available on the calendar view.

You can also change how the calendar looks and what information it shows.
