Show full hierarchy while filtering work items in your plan
This page refers to the advanced planning features that are only available as part of Jira Cloud Premium and Enterprise.
When you add filters to your plan, only work items that meet your criteria are shown. However, you can use the Show full hierarchy option in the Filters menu to view all of the child work items that belong to those filtered work items, even if they don’t match your criteria.
For example, you add a filter to only show work items assigned to Release A. Among other work items, your plan contains a parent-level work item (epic by default in software spaces) assigned to that release with four child work items. However, only two of those work items are assigned to Release A.
With Show full hierarchy disabled, you’ll only see the parent-level work item with the two child work items that are assigned to that release.
With it on, you’ll see all four child work items, even though two of them aren’t assigned to that release.
To show full hierarchy when filtering:
Open the Filters menu.
Toggle the Show full hierarchy checkbox at the bottom.
