We're updating our terminology in Jira

'Issue' is changing to 'work item'. You might notice some inconsistencies while this big change takes place.

Enable agile features in team-managed projects

This page is for team-managed projects

To check whether your project is team-managed or company-managed, select more actions (•••) next to the project name in either the header or the sidebar. At the bottom of the menu that opens, you’ll be able to view whether your project is team-managed or company-managed.

If you're in a company-managed project, check out these company-managed project articles instead.

More about the difference between company-managed and team-managed projects.

Team-managed projects and boards allow you to switch on any features you need, and ignore the ones you don't. We recommend only enabling the features your team needs and disabling everything else. This way, your project doesn't get cluttered and your team can focus on the things that matter.

To enable agile features:

  1. If not already there, navigate to your team-managed project.

  2. Next to your project's name in the sidebar, select more actions (•••), then Project settings.

  3. Select Features and use the toggles to enable and disable features for your project.

Another way you can enable and disable features for your project is by adding them to your project navigation:

  1. Select the add to navigation button (+) in the project navigation.

  2. Select the feature that you'd like to enable for your project.

  3. Select the Add to navigation button. Now you can easily access your project features in your project navigation.
