Priority level is a selection made during Alert creation which conveys the severity of an Alert so that responders can react accordingly.
OpsGenie currently does not support multilingual parsing for priority fields. If the priority levels in incoming data are not in English, OpsGenie may not interpret them correctly.
We recommend standardizing the input into English to ensure an accurate priority is assigned to your Alert.
The priority settings can be made during the manual Alert creation or from the Advanced Integration Settings. Clicking the dropdown list on the Priority field would list all of the priority levels which can be seen below.
Alert priorities are indicated at a first glance by the color attached to the deduplication number. The scale ranges from P5 - Informational (dark green) to P1 - Critical (bright red), with each level communicating how high of a priority this Alert is.
For example, P1 - Critical is represented by a bright red color and its notification flow is designed to ensure rapid response, often involving immediate notifications to responders. Alternatively, P3 - Moderate is represented by a yellow color with slower notifications, allowing for a more measured response time.
Our Alert API also supports choosing and updating the priority level of Alerts you create and manage. At the moment, users can’t customize the color of priority fields - however, we are working on making this feature available soon.
