Alert notifications after migration

After migrating from Opsgenie, alert notifications are fully supported in Jira Service Management and Compass. However, there are important changes in how notifications are branded, configured, and delivered across email, SMS, voice, and mobile push notifications. Users should review these updates to ensure they continue receiving critical alerts without disruption.

Are alert notifications available in all Jira Service Management and Compass plans?

Alert notifications are available across on Jira Service Management Premium and Enterprise plans. In Compass it is available in Premium plan only. 

Are alert notification settings auto-synced after migration?

Most notification settings are automatically migrated, but there are key differences:

  • Email notifications will now follow Jira Service Management or Compass templates.

  • SMS and voice notifications will transition to new sender IDs.

  • Push notifications require the Jira mobile app, and settings must be manually configured.

Are there required actions for full workflow parity?

Yes. You might need to:

  • Update email filtering rules to recognize new sender addresses.

  • Verify SMS and voice notifications by saving the new sender ID.

  • Set up mobile push notifications in the Jira mobile app.

  • Manually configure notification rules for mobile alerts and device-specific notifications.

  • Opsgenie email templates are replaced with Jira Service Management or Compass-branded templates.

  • Alerts will be sent from:

    • Jira Service Management: no-reply@jsm-notifications.atlassian.net

    • Compass: no-reply@compass-notifications.atlassian.net

  • Make sure your team updates email filters to prevent alerts from being blocked or sent to spam.

SMS and voice notifications

  • SMS and voice notifications are now branded under Jira Service Management or Compass.

  • Opsgenie sender IDs will continue to be used during migration but will change after the transition is complete.

  • Save the new vCard for trusted sender recognition:

  • The Opsgenie mobile app is no longer supported. Push notifications now require the Jira mobile app.

  • Notification rules don’t auto-migrate. You can manually set up push notification preferences.
