Use Atlassian Intelligence to search for answers

Instead of using filters or advanced search syntax, use Atlassian Intelligence to search Confluence. Ask a question and get an answer based on the information available to you.

To use Atlassian Intelligence features in Confluence, your organization admin needs to activate it from Atlassian Administration

Search Confluence with Atlassian Intelligence

  1. Select the search field in the navigation (or use the slash () shortcut key).

  2. Enter your question.

  3. Select Ask AI in the box that appears.

  4. Your question will be answered by Atlassian Intelligence.

  • What team is developing the new project?

  • How many days are left in this fiscal year?

Remember that answers are solely based on what’s in your Confluence (and what you, specifically, have access to). This feature does not generate new content, but searches Confluence pages and blogs (while respecting restrictions) to answer your question. Subjective questions (like “What is the meaning of life?”) or questions on which there isn’t much information may not trigger responses.

Currently, answers can only be generated for questions asked in English.

What powers Atlassian Intelligence?

Atlassian Intelligence leverages artificial intelligence developed internally and from OpenAI. It uses the Teamwork graph, which is unique to a customer's project or service work, along with internal language models and OpenAI to deliver results specific to the customer's context.

What are the limitations of Atlassian Intelligence?

As we continue to develop Atlassian Intelligence, we recognize that limitations in AI can arise from various factors, such as narrow inputs, systemic biases, insufficient training or test data, or poor quality of training or test data. However, we are committed to making improvements to our artificial intelligence and machine learning models to better address specific use cases over time.
