View your notifications

Confluence displays notifications collected from page watches, shares, mentions, and tasks. If your Confluence site is linked to a Jira application, like Jira Software or Jira Service Desk, you'll also see notifications from your Jira application.

The Confluence Cloud mobile app lets you get notifications wherever you are. Try it for iOS and Android, today.

View your notifications

To see your notifications, select the notifications icon  in the sidebar. From your notifications you can reply to comments, like a comment or page, watch a page, or open the relevant page or blog post.

Only show relevant notifications

You can use the Only show unread feature to easily filter relevant notifications from the noise.

To do this:

  1. Select the notification bell icon in the top nav bar to open the notification center.

  2. Select the Only show unread button so that it is switched on (green).

    1. To hide a single notification from view, select the blue dot on the right side of the notification. This marks the notification as "read" and because Only show unread is active, the now "read" notification will be hidden.

    2. To clear all your unread notifications, select Mark all as read.

Notifications aren't deleted, so nothing is ever lost.

If you want to see hidden notifications later:

  1. Select the notification bell icon in the top nav bar to open the notification center.

  2. Select the Only show unread button so that it is switched off (gray). All notification, read or unread, will now appear in the notification center.

    1. To unhide a notification, simply select Mark as unread and it will stay displaying in your list once you switch Only show unread back on.

Notifications are automatically removed from the list after 30 days. Older notifications can still be found in your email.

Which notifications are included?

Notifications are added to the notifications center when someone does one of the following:

  • Shares a page or blog post with you

  • Mentions you in a page, blog post, comment, or task

  • Comments on a page or blog post that you're watching

  • Likes a page or blog post that you're watching

The notifications center does not show notifications triggered because you're watching a space. Only watches on pages and blog posts are relevant here.

The notification appears as "read" if you've already viewed the page or blog post.

If your Confluence site is linked to a Jira application, you'll also see the following Jira notifications:

  • Comments on issues that you're watching

  • Mentions

  • Shares of issues, filters, and searches
